Those are so beautiful!! Hope you made it through your night in one piece. How funny that we both had ours on the same night. How soon is your wedding? Wishing you the best of luck!!
"Hen night"? Is that the Scottish version of the North American "doe night," where women get together to do unspeakable things with sewing or knitting or whatever to celebrate the upcoming wedding?
Since the male counterpoint to doe night over here is called, naturally enough, the "stag party," I hate to imagine what you call it over there.
Hi Wendy, Nora and Joanna, the wedding is in a few weeks time. Too soon, aargh!
Hey Vegan Noodle, It is weird it was on the same night!
We had fun! My bridesmaid organised a great party. Her house, which is gorgeous anyway, was decorated with balloons and butterflies. Everyone brought a dish and some wine. A brilliant night!
Good luck with your wedding!
Hi Mapmaster, It sounds similar and I don't want to disilusion you, but no harm was done and we all got home in one piece, just a little worse for wear!
It is a stag party here too and Graham does seem rather frightened of having one! A little more dangerous than my hen night!
Graham, You are such a pig sometimes! I wanted more of that cake!
Fab cakes! That blue icing is amazing. I remember that wedding countdown "so much to do - so little time feeling" OMG panic!!!! Stay cool! It'll happen - it'll be brilliant.
I'll look forward to many more wonderful posts once life has settled down after the wedding.I don't know how you find the time at the moment with work and planning...but then again sitting by the computer is sometimes theraputic!!!(Is that the correct spelling..it looks odd)
Tell Graham not to worry — statistically, fewer than half of all stag parties result in fatalities. It turns out that most serious injuries to bridegrooms occur when they arrive home to their brides. Odd, that…
Oh Holler too fun! What a party! Must be like our bachelorette party's here - no men allowed! Just the girls who sometime get wild and crazy. Those cakes look awesome as I love chocolate and strawberry combinations. I am getting so excited for you and Graham! What date in October?
Isn't that icing fab? Those were the most brilliant cakes!
I have to admit, I am feeling a little panicky about the wedding! But I did find out that my wedding dress would fit into hand luggage, happily today. I wanted it on board with me, so it couldn't be lost, run over, thrown about etc! Phew!
Hi Val, I am going to force myself to have a blog break during the wedding. (if I can manage!)
Hah, Mapmaster, Graham has been through the worst, as we have been together for years! He knows my wrath already and still asked me to marry him! Odd, huh?
Hi Deb, I had one honorary hen, but he wasn't too scared!
We are getting married on the third! So cross your fingers!
If it weren't for me, these comment threads would be nothing but very nice women saying very nice things to each other, very nicely. We wouldn't want that now, would we?
I always love reading comments, so thank you for taking the time to leave one. Unfortunately, I've been bombarded with spam recently, so I've had to turn on comment moderation. I'll publish your comments as soon as I can and respond to them. Jac x
Very cute. Hope you had fun! When's the big day?

The pink cake got brought home afterwards and i've almost singlehandedly demolished it, very tasty indeed!
ReplyDeleteSo very cute. And congratulations, I didn't know that you were getting married. When's the big day?
ReplyDeleteHen night? Great cake - but when's the wedding??

ReplyDeleteYou are probably right Mapmaster! Keep those comments coming!
ReplyDeleteThose cakes look fabulous, I hope they tasted as good as they look!
ReplyDeleteThey were even better than they looked, if that is conceivable! I am not much of a baker, myself!
ReplyDeleteThey are stunning.
ReplyDeleteI will pass your lovely compliment along to Sarah. Thanks Beccy
ReplyDeleteThose cakes are so creative and lovely! What an inspiration! Your Hen Night sounded delightful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cake...almost too pretty to slice!
