The Vagaries of the Scottish Weather

Yesterday, I was shopping in Perth and it was a glorious day, so sunny and warm. I didn't even need a coat, a thin cardi was enough and I was thinking "Summer is on it's way"! Well I was obviously wrong! I look out of the window this morning and everything is white. What is going on here? Why are there such quick changes in weather? Is it global warming or is this just another example of our fine Scottish weather? Will Summer ever arrive? I would settle for a few weeks of Spring!
And now for something completely different!
I would like to show you a couple of comedy photos of my cat Beaker!

I think he was about to sneeze or proclaim something very important!
And now, what he normally looks like. Well as normal as this cat, who likes you to shut the door after everyone has come in and open it freshly for him, can be!
Yep - same here, as far as the weather goes! Terribly changeable! We went cycling down by the Clyde yesterday, and then awoke to snow!
ReplyDeleteMy bike hasn't seen the light of day this year and if it keeps snowing it definitely won't!
ReplyDeleteHee hee. Your cat's funny. You should put those pics on the I Can Has Cheezeburger site.
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy That is a good site, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHow come Rosie always looks so cute in your photos and my cats just look weird in mine? They are always pulling faces!
Although I'm hoping that Spring has come to stay..I still have my fingers and toes crossed...we still get the cold days and light frost. My pansies and primulas have survived so far and I still go for my walks ..so it is all good. Beaker is quite the card as well:D
ReplyDeleteIsn't he just Val! My cats are what you may like to call 'individual'! They have their ways!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that Spring will settle here too, sometime soon!
you probably wont like to know that it seemed to be getting colder here (many homes without power after terrible storms last week) and now it is meant to reach 28 c next week - I also feel confused but in a the opposite way!
ReplyDeletelove your pussy cat - made me laugh to see the wink and aborted sneeze - and glad to know our cat isn't the only one to want the door open at her beck and call!
Oh Jeez! Not good conditions Johanna! I hope you weren't affected by the power cuts!
ReplyDeleteBeaker is a law unto himself! Granted he doesn't actually sit on the computer like your cat does, but he likes doors to be left open for his benefit, unless someone has walked through them. He will open doors that have been selfishly shut and will make his point be wanting to go in and out of those he can't open himself, continually! Arrgh!
Oh I know just the feeling, we have our fair share of capricious weather here too, sigh.
ReplyDeleteLooks like that little kitty definitely knows who's in charge of the house!
Hi Pia, he certainly thinks he's in charge! I bet you have a cat or two like that as well!
ReplyDeleteI do believe global warming is taking us over. We have already had to turn on the air conditioning here. Usually do not have to have it on until May! Very warm and humid already! And with hurricane season just around the corner...let's not get into that right now. Your fresh flowers look so sweet!
ReplyDeleteLook at that guy! In pic 2, he is definately telling you to get that camera out of his face! Too cute Holler!
Hi Deb, the weather is odd and very worrying. I makes you wonder, how it is all going to turn out!
ReplyDeleteBeaker suffers the camera with an air of 'will you stop that already, I am bored of it now'!
I know! It's been snowing in London today too! Your cat is lovely, I miss my cat (lives with my parents).
ReplyDeleteHi Holler! I'm visiting your blog for the first time and I find it really lovely..and your cat is so cute!
ReplyDeleteReally wonderfull!
Silvia
sounds like you could be living with me in Iowa! We've actually had nice weather the past two days...no snow or rain...but up until then it was touch and go. I don't know about you, but the weather really affects my mood and well being!
ReplyDeleteI'll send you some warm weather from California. Spring has definitely arrived here! Cute cat!
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, you must miss your cat!
ReplyDeleteHi Silvia, Thanks for visiting! I don't think Beaker would like to be called cute, he thinks he is tough!
Hi Mary, you are so right about the weather, it really affects how you are feeling! I am certainly feeling better now there is more daylight. I can handle a bit of snow!
Hi Lori, Thanks for the promise of some warm weather, it would really be appreciated! By the way, I loved your Quintuple Chocolate Brownies!
We had sun, rain and hail today... And now it's just freezing cold. At least it's a little bit lighter in the evenings - easier to get decent pics to put online!
ReplyDeleteI know Jen, what a difference it makes having some sunlight when you are trying to take photos, although i have a new camera and I am not used to it yet!
ReplyDeleteWe only had the merest flicker of the lights as we sat down to eat dinner in front of the Bill on the weekend - so we were much luckier than many who had powercuts
ReplyDeleteAw adorable cat! The weather here has been really weird too. Warm days then snow then sun then hail, etc. Okay well not all of those things in the same day but it's a bit all over the place!
ReplyDeleteyour cat pictures crack me up!
