The Easter Bunny? No, Much Better!
It's Easter Sunday and while others have been visited by the Easter Bunny, I have been visited by the Fairy Hobmother. You may not have heard of this mythical creature before, but it does exist.
I was visiting Nic over at Cherrapeno and she was talking about having a visit from the Fairy Hobmother. She had made a wish and been granted an new electric hand mixer. She was overjoyed as hers had died a slow and painful death. I left a comment and before I could blink the Fairy Hobmother had granted my wish too!
The Fairy Hobmother lives in a rather excellent website called Appliances Online who sell white goods and cookers, but his reach is much broader than this and you can also wish for other kitchen goodies.
I wished for a stand mixer. I have never actually had one before and was put off by lack of space, but the mixer I was granted is so gorgeous, that I will be leaving it on display when I am not using it.
I still can't get over it. I was so excited when I found out.
If you would like the Fairy Hobmother to grant you a wish, then leave a comment to say what you would wish for and why. You never know, your wish may be granted.
Hah! What a wonderful gift! Looking forward to how you use it! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteDo you not want to make a wish Tanita?
ReplyDeleteWow - you are so lucky Jac. Do they do breadmakers he he!!
ReplyDeleteYour wish is noted Beth :)
ReplyDeleteYou lucky duck you! I would love a stand mixer buy with summer coming my friends and I would really enjou a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker as opposed to the hand cranked one I have already.
ReplyDeleteOH, that is much, much better than an Easter Bunny! I wish we had a Fairy Hobmother in the US!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky so and so - it's gorgeous!!!!! Mine is a rather elderly one, bought for a tenner in a charity shop, but still dearly loved for all that. If I could have one new piece of kitchen equipment, it'd have to be for a proper ice cream maker. The one I've got is one of those that you have to put the bowl in the freezer a day before you use it - no use for spur of the moment desires.
ReplyDeleteyou know what..id want something as bizarre as an espresso machine cos im such a sucker for espresso and instead of spending money on espresso at starbucks and costa i would now be able 2 make some at home
ReplyDeleteGlad your wishes come true. I am wishing on a breadmaker.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Jacque! wow your stand mixer looks great! I wish for a fruit and vegetable juicer. I´ve never had one and now that I have a 19 months old son, I would love to try it to give him the best out of fruit and vege.xx Pópulo
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely. I use my stand mixer all the time. So useful.
ReplyDeleteSomething I use almost every day too is my little wand mixer, brilliant for whizzing up cream to go on strawberries and a million other uses, it's about to die a death (making very weird noises), so I guess I should wish for a replacement....but shhhh....don't tell mine he'll pack up in indignation that I'm even thinking of replacing him!!
Sue xx
That is a rather gorgeous animal that!!! I would love one too, but I don't bake as much, so probably won't be using it very much. That said, if the Firy Hobmother is listening (mother's day coming up soon here...) I would love a food processor. I have my nice mixer grinder, but it doesn't chop, slice or make dough!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a magnificent kitchen gadget. I've had a food dehydrator on my wish list for five years so that I can preserve some home grown goodies. The Birthday fairies and the Christmas angels didn't visit me last year, so its still on the wish list. Wishing out loudly, who knows it may come true :)
ReplyDeleteWow that looks beautiful. The fairy hobmother loves your blog too.I was recently treated to a new Kenwood, but I have the much smaller Prospero model because my kitchen really is very small.I'm still having fun getting use to it, before I had a hand mixer too.
ReplyDeleteHope the Easter Bunny came to your little man though.
Happy Easter xx
Happy Easter Jac! What a lovely gift you have, can't wait to see you start to use it!
ReplyDeleteI think if the fairy hobmother could grant my ultimate wish it would be a new oven because mine is slightly on the blink.... but more realistically I'd wish for a new set of digital kitchen scales to replace the ones that only work when you press them hard in just the right place.....
I don't know what appliance the Fairy Hobmother could possibly bring me that I would use and have room for. I really need a kitchen do over but since hubby isn't working, either we do the work ourselves or do without. I guess the without works out. But if someone could diagnose my fridge, which seems to freeze the stuff I don't want frozen and spoil the stuff I want cold, that would work for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Jac, what a lovely Easter present. I don't have a stand mixer, but I have no room for one with my kitchen being so small. I am hopeful of a post Easter present soon though from the Fairy Hobmother - a wonderful being.
ReplyDeleteWow - now this is a fairy I DO believe in!
ReplyDeleteHaving a kitchen cluttered with stuff there's not much I need, I've always fancied a powerful juicer though - not sure why I don't have one!
I'm wishing as hard as I can for an ice-cream maker, and a pasta machine and... I really must stop myself or I'll be wishing for everything.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to see you had your wish granted Jac, that looks like one heck of a beast!
ReplyDeleteWowee! What a generous Fairy Hobmother!!! And such a pretty stand mixer too, I can understand why yopu are so pleased. I don't actually have a wish for myself, I pretty much have every kitchen gadget that I need, but Hubby has always lusted after a coffee machine!!! We had one on our wedding list but then took it off again thinking it was a step too far in wedding gift list greed!
ReplyDeleteLucky girl!
ReplyDeleteWow, you lucky lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteIf I was granted a wish by the Fairyhobmother I would choose a hand-held mixer or a glass bowl for my Kitchen Aid :)

Wow, what a beauty! You must have been very good to be granted such a wonderful wish! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing thing to get!! You must be so pleased! If I could have a wush granted it would be to get a pasta maker as I have never owned one and would love to make my own pasta!!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to feel like I upset the Fairy Godmother at Appliances Online somewhere along the line, since all I got was chocolate!
ReplyDeleteLucky you!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling your Fairy Hobmother lives in Scotland, so it won't do me any good, but I can dream!
It is indeed a beautiful present!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gift. Lucky You.I am sure the Fairy Hobmother won't come to velse I would have gone for an ice cream maker or a pasta machine.
ReplyDeleteoops there is a typo. I meant the FairyHobMother won't come here to India
ReplyDeleteWow! I most certainly do need to put a wish in! I would also wish for a Kenwood freestanding mixer, but I also have desire for a Gaggia Iceceam machine... Fingers crossed my wish comes true!
