Well, actually it's Nakd, but I bet that got your attention.

Nakd or "Nudie" bars as their makers fondly call them, are my latest addiction.

When they offered to send me some, I immediately said "yes please" as my friend had been raving about them. I have to admit to walking past them in my regular health food store without a second glance. I have tried a raw bar before and wasn't overly excited.

I have learned the error of my ways!

These are amazing!

Nakd berry delight, nakd cashew cookie, nakd cocoa delight, nakd cocoa mint, nakd cocoa orange, nakd ginger bread and nakd pecan pie. Mmmmmmmmmm!

I wasn't as keen on the two nutty ones. I would happily eat them, but wouldn't choose them. The cocoa delight is the one for me, oh and the cocoa mint and the cocoa orange and the gingerbread, yes the gingerbread is so so good.

They are much nicer than a bar of chocolate as they are so full of flavour, chocolately and zingy. Much more filling than a chocolate bar too. I always feel like I am eating something naughty when I have one. I quite often have one at afternoon break when I am at work and they keep me going until I get home.

Oh and did I mention they are gluten free, wheat free, dairy free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. They are basically just raw fruit and nuts cheerfully smooshed together! For instance, the gingerbread bar is just made from cold pressed dates, almonds, pecans ginger, cloves and cinnamon and the cocoa delight is made from cold pressed dates, cashew nuts raisins and cocoa. I couldn't believe it when I read the back, they just seem like so much more.

Must stock up today as I ate my last one yesterday!

  1. Hm! You, as my scone partner in crime, I will trust to be telling the truth about tasty bites! Raw food has generally been a bit on the disappointing side, and generally gives a sour stomach, but this sounds tasty. Must try. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. Haha....yes your title did catch my attention.

These sound delicious, I'll look out for them next time I'm out shopping.

Loved yesterdays 'Baby Egg Pies' too.

    Sue xx

  3. No, really they are gorgeous Tanita, you get a real chocolate hit from them, well from the chocolate ones anyway :)

I am going to be buying more at lunchtime Sue. I am glad you liked the baby egg pies :)

  4. I fell in love with these on my last trip to scotland - they are delicious - raw food seems to do best where nuts are involved in my experience - I think these are quite like lara bars

  5. Such a clever name! It would grab your attention right away. Nice to hear they follow it up with a great tasting product too. The flavors sound wonderful.

  6. I've not heard of lara bars Johanna, but I think you are right, the nuts definitely help the texture.

They are great Barbara, I bought a few bars at lunchtime. I got one I hadn't tried before too, apple pie, so I am looking forward to trying that!

  7. These sound awesome, I had to laugh at "nudie bars" though as it means something a little diffrent over here in California, ha ha

  8. I will be keeping a keen eye peeled for these babies in the future!

  9. They sound yummy, and I'll be on the lookout for 'em!

  10. Ha Ha! that did get my attention alright.Do you know if we can buy these in England? I have never seen them and I am always on the look out for new but healthy snacks x.

  11. I've walked past them a dozen times lately and didn't think they'd be something I would enjoy. You've convinced me to give them a try!

  12. I dread to think Foodness Gracious. I think I am best not knowing. hehe :D

I had a choc orange one this afternoon Chele, Mmmmmmm :P

Hope you find some Mary :)

You should be able to find them in health food shops Lisa, I buy mine in Holland and Barrett. They have branches down south and are online.

Go on Katie, buy, buy!! Honestly though you will enjoy them.

  13. They're a real favourite of mine, too! I love the cashew cookie and cocoa mint ones. Haven't seen cocoa delight, though - I'll have to seek those out!

Love your blog, by the way - I've been reading for a while but this is my first comment!

  14. Thank you Allie, I am so glad you like my blog and hope you will feel comfortable to chip in. nice to meet you :)

  15. I don't even want to know Gerry, best not to I think :)

They are real good Chele :)

Especially the chocolately ones Mary :)

  16. I love them!

And recently got a huge box to review too.

Just putting my write up together!

  17. Yeah!I have managed to procure a "few" in my local supermarket, they were on offer too - result. I have just tried the cocoa orange, got to agree it was lovely. I especially like the comment on the back of the packet, best before-your friend eats it x.

Oh just realised my original comment asking if we can get them in England is not there anymore - sorry if this caused any confusion

  18. Interesting. Haven't heard of these or seen them anywhere.
