Pasta Please

Pasta

We all love it.

It's perfect when:
  • we want to share a meal with friends
  • we need a quick after work meal
  • we want to use up vegetables
  • we want to be frugal
  • we need some comfort food

After the sad demise of the long running food challenge Presto Pasta Nights hosted by the lovely Ruth, I felt there was something missing. I didn't join in every month, but I loved having a look through all the recipes in the roundups for inspiration. So here we are with a new food blog challenge called Pasta Please.

Each month there will be a linky where you can your dish.

I will be looking for guest hosts to help me run the challenge as I also have Bookmarked Recipes and No Croutons Required to look after.

Here are the rules:

Pasta Please

To join in, simply post a pasta dish on your blog by the 28th of the month and:
  • Link to the current host.
  • Link to Tinned Tomatoes.
  • Use the Pasta Please logo in your post
  • If you use twitter, tweet your post with @tinnedtoms and #PastaPlease and I will re-tweet it to my followers.
Rules:
  • Follow the current theme when creating your recipe
  • When I am host, all entries must be suitable for vegetarians.
  • Other hosts will accept all pasta dishes, unless they specify only vegetarian/ vegan etc
  • One entry per blog.
  • Recipes must be added to the linky by the 28th of each month.
Hosts:
  • A list of hosts and current events can be found here.
  • If you would like to host Pasta Please, email me at tinnedtomatoes@googlemail.com.

The January 2013 theme is cheese.
All dishes must be suitable for vegetarians.

I look forward to some really tasty pasta dishes. Add them to the linky below.

  3. Very nice idea and generous gesture towards Presto Pasta Nights. I'll certainly participate. I am also willing to host, as I have done multiple times with PPN. However, I don't know if I can add the linky plugin to my blog. Let me know.

    1. No, it is only veggie if the host is. I have June free, if you would like it?

  5. Oh, I'm so glad you are taking this up! I only found Presto Pasta in time for the second-last one (and couldn't quite manage two pasta posts in two weeks). I'll definitely keep an eye on this.

Also, would happily host this, especially in June or July.

    1. Good, I do hope you join in Catherine. I have July free, if you would like to have a go at hosting it then?

    2. Drat, only just saw this, and I see July is now taken. August may be living dangerously, but it doesn't look like an insane quantity of work - can I put my hand up for that?

I have some slightly insane ideas for themes...

    1. It was sad news, but a lot of work for Ruth and after she hurt her wrist it must have been pretty impossible.

  10. Dear Jacqueline, I'm happy that you host a pasta event. I love pasta and I regularly post pasta recipes on my blog! I cook vegetarian sauces but I ALWAYS add Parmesan to my dishes (it is an Italian blog!!). How can add my veggie sauces topped with Parmesan and being in line with the VEGETARIAN rules??

    1. Don't worry about that Rita, there is a vegetarian Parmesan.

  12. Hi Jacqueline,
I came across your nice blog and this blog event, and as a pasta lover (who isn't?) and vegetarian, I would love to take part in it. I'm a newby and started my blog just a few days ago - I hope joining this event is ok nevertheless?
    Cheers,
    Claudia

  13. Yes, pasta, yes, anytime.
But I guess the parmesan you use to finish off the pasta for serving doesn't count for the theme, does it?

  15. I can't believe, I missed the deadline. I feel so silly! I worked on a new (for me) pasta shape and it took me longer than expected, but finally my post is ready, but it's too late. Oh well, my fault. Please, forgive me, Jacqueline: I thought I had time until the end of the month. (Unfortunately, there are no peppers in my pasta, so it won't work for the February edition.)
