No Croutons Required - August 2013

No Croutons Required is a monthly vegetarian soup and salad challenge.

It's hosted by myself and Lisa over at Lisa's Kitchen. Lisa and I take turns hosting and this month it is my turn.

For August's challenge the topic is seasonal.

This challenge is worldwide, so create a recipe using seasonal produce that's in season in your part of the world. It can be a soup or salad, but please mention in the post which seasonal ingredients you used.

I look forward to seeing your entries.

As ever the entries need to be added to the linky below by the 20th of August 2013. You can read the more about the challenge on my No Croutons Required page.

Before I go, I must say congratulations to Rachel Cotterill who won July's challenge with her Warm Halloumi Salad with Lime Dressing. It looks gorgeous!

The Bookmarked recipe roundup and new challenge will be up soon. Keep tuned and check out The Food Blog Diary for more foodie challenges and giveaways.

  1. A lovely challenge idea! Although I've sworn to myself I would limit my blogging this month (I have to study!) I've updated a post from two days ago with the challenge details as it's definitely a seasonal recipe. :)

    1. Great timing then Elizabeth and it sounds like a wonderful salad :)

  2. The name of my recipe couldn't be entered fully as the space for the title in the linky was too limited.Good theme for this month's challenge!

    1. Haha, I see what you mean. don't worry, I will go to your blog for the full details, the link is the important bit :)

  3. I won! *happy dance* Hmm, now, what about seasonal ingredients... I hope our figs are ripe in time! :)

  4. Just an FYI...it says submissions are due by APRIL 20, 2013 at the end of the post! Love the idea...will motivate me to get to the farmers market!! :)

  5. Phew, having missed out on previous NCRs, I am so pleased that I have just made it with my submission.

Congrats to Rachel to for winning last month.
