Today has gone by in a flash! I had a list of so many things I wanted to accomplish , but I am not going to dwell on that, as most of them just didn't happen! It is now nine o'clock and I haven't eaten yet, so I think it may be beans on toast tonight!
I did however, make some jerk seasoning. I am adding some pictures of the spices, as they looked so beautiful as I was measuring them out. I am so sad! I ran upstairs for my camera and then took the bowl outside to take photos! Blog-madness!
I'm going to leave the glaze to develop overnight and then coat some Halloumi with it tomorrow.
I have high hopes. Wish me luck!
That looks gooood. Good luck with the Halloumi!
ReplyDeleteThanks hellojed, hope it doesn't stick to the pan (my latest thought about it!).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the seasoning and glaze. Hopefully you'll post a photo of the halloumi.
ReplyDeleteI used my latest batch on chicken kebobs. I'll be posting that tomorrow.
Beans on toast! Ha, ha.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog.
this looks like a great idea for haloumi and I am glad you went to the trouble of a photo - spices are surely a thing of beauty. I sometimes take my food nearer the light or window to photograph but if you want to feel in good company go to http://foodblogscool.blogspot.com/ and read some of the peole talking about running home at lunchtime to photograph a cold dish in daylight - and I appreciate it because i love food photos!
ReplyDeleteYou just brought back a wonderful memory for me. My mom used to make beans on bread. Yours on toast sounds yummy also!
ReplyDeleteI think your photo of the spices outside with your cute little towel is very good! The light outside is so great isn't it. Mother Nature provides again!
Don't worry you're not the only one with blog madness!
ReplyDeleteJerk seasoning is sooo good! I discovered it when in Florida and fell infood-love - I still have some bought Caribbean jerk left, I try to ration it... But maybe I should actually try to make my very own jerk *no pun intended*!
ReplyDeleteRuth, the Glaze was brilliant! Thanks for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteCookiecrumb, I'll have you know that baked beans are full of protein! Although we didn't have them after all, we had some cheese & biscuits instead.
Glad you like the blog!
Hi Johanna, the spices smelled amazing! I wish I had a widget for smells!
Hi winedeb, Your mum was wise, good comfort food!
My tea towel is a new purchase, glad you noticed!
Hi Maya, I am glad I am not going mad on my own!
pia k, this is a good fast recipe, so don't be worried about running out of that jerk seasoning!
Beautiful photos. The spices look like art the way you took that picture. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Kleopatra,
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, kind maiden! They are gorgeous colours, though, aren't they!
