National
Vegetarian Week (NVW) is the UK’s annual awareness-raising campaign
promoting inspirational vegetarian food and the benefits of a meat-free
lifestyle. This year it runs from Monday 21 May - Sunday 27 May 2012.
I have been vegetarian for 22 years now and I can honestly say, I have never eaten better. In honour of National Vegetarian Week I would like to share with you some of my favourite dishes. Whether you are vegetarian or not, I hope you leave inspired and eager to try some recipes out.
I am adding a linky to the end of the post. If you would like to add your favourite vegetarian recipe from your own blog archive (please mention this link-up if you post this week) or from a favourite website, then just add it and I will do a roundup on Saturday 26 May 2012. One recipe per person.

ReplyDeleteHappy Vegetarian Week, I went to the launch in Manchester on Saturday, and I was lucky enough to see the wonderful Rose Elliott in action cooking up a feast in the food tent.
Sue xx
That must have been brilliant Sue. I was invited to on of her masterclasses this week, but I was working :(
DeleteOoh that tagliatelle looks great! I had no idea it was NVW but I made a veggie mince pie last night which will kick the week off nicely! Lovely post x
ReplyDeleteGood start to the week for you then Dom. The tagliatelle is yummy :)
DeleteAll of that looks lovely - the herby mushroom pasta, especially, just at the moment. Can't wait to get back into a decent kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are on the move again already Tanita.
DeleteWhat a wonderful collection of vegetarian recipes, Jacqueline. I am not a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean I don't cook and enjoy recipes like these!
ReplyDeleteI like to think these recipes are for everyone :)
DeleteWhat a great way to celebrate National Vegetarian Week. I'm in the US but I'm celebrating in spirit.
ReplyDeleteI've added my recipe for enchilada lasagna casserole which features vegetarian ground beef as the protein.
Thanks for hosting!
Thanks for adding a dish Madge :)
Deleteyou sure do eat well - I want to just be at your table sharing all that food - I wish we had a strong Veg society like the one in the uk but will try and play along if I get a chance and if not I will still be cheering on the sidelines :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have a whole blog to choose from Johanna, I wouldn't know where to start. I love your cooking too :)

DeleteI was a bit confused about if I could choose a recipe that wasn't posted this week but then I realised I had just posted a photo of my split pea soup on my "In the Kitchen" post tonight so I have added that to the linky (if I just had to post one thing from my blog that is indeed a hard choice)
DeleteWhat a fab selection of veg eats Jacqueline.
ReplyDeleteI hope to come back later to link up with a fave veggie dish, so many to choose from.
Great, I look forward to seeing what you choose Shaheen :)
DeleteFab celebration of your wonderful veggie cooking. Will have a look tomorrow, I'm sure to have something to add.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janice :)
DeleteA lovely selection of recipes! I'm not vegetarian but I very rarely cook meat at home. I tend to make simple veg stir-fry or pasta. I'll be back to get more recipe inspirations!
ReplyDeleteThat is good to hear Ros :)
DeleteI love the way you write your blogs! Yummy, yummy! Looks delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne :)

DeleteSome great inspiration here, thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad yoou have enjoyed my blog :)
DeleteYour selection of veggie food is really inspiring, your whole site is actually. I'm quite new to your blog but I'm finding myself drifting here over the course of the day. I've added to the linky contribution, apologies for adding two dishes, I read the 'one recipe per person' a little too late! Happy vegetarian week to you!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the extra dish. I will choose my favourite of the two. Thanks for stopping by, it is always lovely to meet new readers :)
DeleteWhat a nice selection! Everything looks great. The chickpea bake is quite intriguing.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing Simona. I love it, as do my family and friends :)
DeleteGorgeous food - I'm not veggie but am cooking more and more, helped by Hugh FW, Simon Rimmer and Yottm Ottolenghi. i tried to link up but something went wrong with the Linky thing. Here's the link I was going to add and I will put a link in on my blog at some point today or tomorrow.

DeleteWhat a great line up of dishes - it's inspiring to see how well you can eat as a vegetarian -
