I do.
I love watching TV Chefs, documentaries about food, cookery rescue and cookery competitions. Yep, basically anything with food involved.
I indulge in my TV food obsession in two ways, on demand and on Netflix.
Netflix has been one of our best purchases. We've been using it for years and we all watch it, together and separately. We watch it on our tv through our xbox, on our laptop, on our smart phones and on our tablets. You are actually able to stream through 6 different devices and you can all have your own homepage which is geared to your personal interests.
You can start with one month free and then it is only £5.99 a month. Such a bargain!
You can now also watch it through Virgin Media.
So for foodie kicks you can watch:
- Hell’s Kitchen (Gordon Ramsay)
- River Cottage Spring and Autumn (Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall)
- Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares
- Food Inc (documentary)
- Super Size Me (documentary)
- Chocolat (movie)
- Mostly Martha (movie)
- Eat Pray Love (movie)
- Vegucated(documentary)
And here are some of our other family favourites from Netflix.
Do you stream TV and movies?
Disclosure: I wrote this post on behalf of Netflix and Virgin Media, but I have been using this service for years and can highly recommend it. I was not expected to write a positive review.
I love watching cookery films and programmes but even more I love attending cooking demonstrations and schools!
ReplyDeleteOh definitely. Going to cookery classes is such fun.
DeleteAm totally addicted to cookery shows and am a customer of both Virgin Media and Netflix too and a fairly satisfied one at that !
ReplyDeleteIt's a great service, isn't it? I'd hate to go back to the old days of renting DVDs, so time consuming and expensive.
DeleteI love cooking shows too, loved Great British Bake Off and Great Australian Bake Off! And I was talking to folk last night about the hilarity that is Wife Swap...
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat The Great British Bake Off, that's for sure!
DeleteVery tempted to sign up to Netflix... Love that it can be watched on so many devices.
ReplyDeleteI know, that was what tempted us in the first place and the streaming picks up where you finished watching, even if you change device.
DeleteWe've got Netflix and love it!
ReplyDeleteJanie x
I love it too Janie. We'd be lost without it.
DeleteMe, me , me for cookery programmes - although House of Cards will win every single time.
ReplyDeleteI've not watched that one yet Bintu. I really must.
DeleteWhen tossing up whether to join Netflicks or LoveFilm I opted for the latter - unless you signed up for their free one month trial, it wasn't transparent which series/films were available whereas Lovefilm you could see exactly what you were getting. That said, I do wish I could watch Kevin Spacey in House of Cards, looks brilliant.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great service Sarah. We looked at LoveFilm to begin with, but they couldn't compete with series.
DeleteMaybe I should invest in this the foodie shows sound great.
ReplyDeleteIt's well worth it Nayna. Very cheep for the service you get.
DeleteI love cooking shows and I often have the food network on it the background whilst I am working. I love watching all the unhealthy food and coming up with healthier versions of it.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I love watching cookery shows and as you say you can get inspiration from them.
DeleteNot available in France for me, but Hannah has it in the UK and do view it when I am there!
ReplyDeleteIt is good. I think France has way more to offer though Karen LOL!
DeleteIt's really tempting...the streaming picks up where you finished watching, even if you change device is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI know. I like that. Sometimes, I am watching something on the tv, then go to bed to carry on watching it on a tablet and if it runs out of charge I just swap to my phone. Genius!
DeleteI like watching cookery programmes but CT isn't so keen, so it tends to be limited to the annual Great British Bake Off.
ReplyDeleteAhh well, if you had this service you could watch them while hubby is watching something else!
DeleteI love cookery shows!
ReplyDeleteMe too Jan :)
DeleteI love cooking shows but unfortunately we don't have much time to watch tv, so we weren't even bother with installing antenna ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's probably for the best Sylvia. TV can suck up time.Mind you I do like to relax with it for an hour or so at the end of the day and think of nothing.
DeleteI'm with sylvia - just don't have time to watch too many cookery shows. But this sounds like a good deal
ReplyDeleteI prefer to flick through and choose something from netflix as there is often nothing worth watching on tv.
DeleteWell I would like to watch, but our broadband speed just doesn't allow it. If we ever get a decent speed then I would definitely consider it
ReplyDeleteOne of the few downfalls of living where you do, but the location is a winner Such beautiful countryside.
DeleteI don't watch anywhere near as much tele as I used to, more a case of having something on in the background on my iPad, while I'm on the computer in the kitchen. Though I have been thinking about Netflix, mainly for the kids. Cooper's TV list would be very appealing to my two, both currently obsessed by dinosaurs!. And I'm obsessed by cook shows too, find it hard to let them pass unwatched, even if it is on catch up in the small hours.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth it Lou. Such a good price too. Cooper loves it. My guilty secret is if he is up too early or I want to have a shower in peace, I let him go away and watch something on my tablet or phone. Win/win!
DeleteI have just subscribed to Netflix. Loving it, especially the back to back screening of boxed sets.
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant, isn't it?
DeleteI tend to watch food shows on Sky but have been considering getting Netflix now that they have affiliated with Amazon Prime.
ReplyDeletenetflix is good, I am rather oldfashioned and wish I could find more on regular channels I liked but it is nice watching what you want when you want
