You might remember the Winter Warmer Competition I announced a while back. It was run by The Co-operative Electrical. I was judging along with two other judges, Becky from Baby Budgeting and Cass from Diary of a Frugal Family.
We plowed through all the entries and there were a lot, drooling over the photographs and pouring devouring the recipes We now have a winner and a runner up. The winner gets £750 worth of electrical goods and one runner
up is offered £250 to spend in the online shop.
1st place:
from Mess Makes Food
2nd place:
from My Golden Pear
There
was a lot of great entries and we had a lot of discussion back and
forth, but in the end we all agreed we loved these dishes which
made a droolworthy meal. Both had a lot of flavour and used hearty ingredients to make a perfect winter dish. Although they were outstanding dishes, the recipes were simple and neither would break the bank. They are both comfort food at it's best and who could resist digging in?
There
were three other dishes that we particularly liked. They don't win a
prize, but we would love to give them a bit of recognition and a highly
commended from the judges.

Highly Recommended
Sweet Potato and Kale Bake - Wallflower Girl
Thai Yellow Noodle Soup from Bunny Kitchen
