What's in the hamper?


The breakfast hamper includes oats, a porridge spurtle and the new range of oaty homeware by Scottish designer Gillian Kyle. There are two breakfast bowls, two mugs a teatowel and an apron. As you can expect from Gillian, the designs are fun with a retro vibe.

  53. My mum's porridge is the best, but it does require an aga. She just cooks oatmeal in water in the bottom oven with a little salt and it almost tastes like cream in the morning. No need to add anything else.

  95. I love making Oat Biscuits 75g each of SRflour, Oats, Margarine, and sugar. 1 Tbsp of golden syrup and milk. mix the dry ingredients. Melt the butter with syrup and milk. Mix the wet ingreients into the dry, flatten out into rounds on a greased tray and bake (Gas 4) for 10-15 mins yummy!!

  156. If it drips from the spoon in anything under couple of seconds it's deemed to be water.
    Slightly salted when cooking is done and serving has yet to be done.
    Absolutely no sugar or anything else because in my experience it only detracts from the standard previously set, there is an argument in my opinion that such actions should result in someone being put on a watchlist for crimes against porridge (those criminals are entitled to completely disagree with me though ;) )
