It's spicy, fragrant, lusciously thick and indecently easy to make.
It knows it's tasty and it knows you think so too.
It's definitely smutty!

I like to serve it with cheese and crusty bread or spread on a wrap before adding salad leaves, roast vegetables and fresh mozzarella.
You can add a dollop to your plate when you are enjoying a curry instead of mango chutney and it's great on a wholemeal sandwich with brie and slices of ripe tomato or feta and salad.
My absolutely favourite way to have it is in a stacked roll with a burger.

Smutty Sweet Chilli Jam
An easy sweet chilli jam that can be made in under half an hour, but tastes luxurious. A versatile jam with a kick of chilli. Can be made milder or hotter to taste.

- 4 red chillies
- 3 large cloves garlic
- a chunk of fresh ginger (approx 3 cm cube)
- 1 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes
- 200g caster sugar
- 50ml white wine vinegar
Instructions
1. Make a paste with the chillies, ginger and garlic. You can do this in a pestle and mortar or a food processor.2. Add the paste to a pan with all the other ingredients and stir well.3. Bring the mixture to the boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook the mixture for 25-30 minutes until thick and glossy.4. Pour into a clean jar and keep in the fridge until you are ready to use it.5. The jam will keep happily in the fridge for a couple of weeks. It's never lasted longer than that so far.6. Enjoy!
