Living on the Veg

My first book is out!

Living on the Veg is available from Amazon and all good bookshops.

What's it about?

It's a kids guide to living meat-free and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. I wrote it jointly with children's non-fiction stalwart Clive Gifford. He's been a veggie himself for a very long time. Clive wrote all the facts, history and tips. It's fun to dip into, rather than a heavy read and includes all you need to know about why it's great to be vegetarian.

The book is informative, but bright, colourful and fun. The designers did a great job.

What did I contribute ?

I created 12 easy recipes that are targeted a children aged 9-11 with supervision. They can also be created with younger children with a bit more help and are perfect for adults who are just looking for a few easy recipes or to ease into a vegetarian diet. A few recipes you will find here on my blog (my editor particularly liked them), but the rest are new recipes and ideas.

Going Veggie

This chapter is an easy guide to what a vegetarian diet is  all about and what you can expect from the rest of the book.

Fact: Did you know there are thought to be some 375 million full-time veggies worldwide?

Ye Olde Vegetarian

In this chapter we look at the history of vegetarianism and find out about some famous historical figures who were veggie. It's quite an eye-opener!

Why Turn Veggie?

Why do people follow a vegetarian diet?  How the planet is harmed by a meat laden-laden diet? Do our diets contribute to pollution and world hunger? These and other questions are answered in this chapter.

Questions Questions

Healthy Living

Following a vegetarian diet is generally healthier, but only if you know what you're doing. This chapter explains how to follow a healthy diet.
