Porridge Breakfast Smoothie with Banana

A comforting breakfast smoothie that will see you through until lunchtime. With the flavours of banana and manuka honey

Porridge Breakfast Smoothie with Banana and Manuka Honey. It'll fill you up until lunchtime.

Morning Smoothies

I love my smoothies and try to make them every morning, although sometimes time gets away from me and we have to shoot out the door before I have time to whizz one up.

I generally make green smoothies as I like to get extra greens into our diet, but I've been craving a comfort breakfast smoothie all week. I think it's the dark mornings and the cooling temperatures.

Rowse Manuka Honey. Great in smoothies or on Greek Yoghurt with banana and berries.

Manuka Honey

Rowse kindly sent me this Manuka Honey to try, so I thought I'd incorporate it into a smoothie. It's dark golden, drippy and stickily good.

Rowse Manuka HoneyMy smoothie pays tribute to our favourite morning porridge with banana, a little honey and some seeds and spice. A comforting start to the day that will see you through until lunchtime.

If you haven't tried Manuka Honey, you really should. It's said to have a lot of health benefits. It's high in anti-oxidants and has anti-bacterial properties.

Rowse have started a campaign for Real Manuka, as often honey labelled in the UK as Manuka doesn't reach the correct standards. The UK don't state how much MGO Manuka Honey has to have to be called Manuka and as this is the active ingredient, so it's rather important.

So Rowse have pledged that:
  • Rowse NPA Manuka Honey is guaranteed 100% pure and authentic.
  • All Rowse Manuka Honey is tested twice for its authenticity; at source in New Zealand and again on arrival in the UK.
  • By testing it twice Rowse ensures that customers are getting the real deal every time.
  • Rowse Honey is committed to ensuring consumers get value for money and to protect the authenticity of this much loved product.

    1. Thanks Camilla. Yes do look out for it. It's more runny than a lot of manuka honey, so easier to use.

  8. This is definitely a good smoothie for this time of the year. All that manuka honey would help to fight off all the colds and I love adding oats to smoothies, they fill you up for longer. I love the colour of this smoothie and I need to get back into making them for us all to start the day!

  10. What a great idea - I bet that smoothie fills you up till lunchtime. The honey looks delicious. I always think the darker coloured honeys have more flavour, but maybe it's just psychological!
